Reset Time:
- 35 minutes (occupied)
History/ Story:
- The small coastal village of Weeden is home to many quaint fishermen and other denizens. A protectorate of Midgaard and the realm of good King Welmar, it enjoys the security and peace provided by the beneficent ruler. There are also sinister but as-yet unconfirmed rumors of an evil priesthood worshipping a hideous demon beneath the city's peaceful streets. Should a group of brave adventurers dare the labrinyth under the city, information regarding this cult would be of great value to the village council.
- The maze and it's dark inhabitants were added in 1998 by Steppin and Ching.
- The horned demon loads this rather cryptic letter, which may have been Steppin's way of addressing what he felt were overreactions of the JediMUD admin at the time he was writing this expansion to the stock Weeden area.
- A Letter from Prosper:
A Letter to Those Who Never Left: In their rooms at night, they call it parable. Let them, for they know not the nature of the game. This is our land now, and there must be no more sympathy for those who claim they can leave the place, as if it gave them nothing. In the safety of their homeland, they call us tyrants. Smile, and welcome them when they return, for surely they will. In the very writing of our history, there is glory and submission, and the settling of the score. In the sleeping of dreams, they mark this world extinguished. Remember the words of the master, and drink still from his fountain! Say: if the path does not exist, create it. If He would let this village die, rebuild it. And to those who would not stay? Teach: have you not seen the highest mountain? Still now you doubt? It is only because you fear the climb, and dare not sit atop the summit's throne.
Mobs of Note:
- Black High Priest (old leather belt, left triptych panel), Demon (crystalblade, left triptych panel) black cultists and the minotaur (2-handed battle axe, right triptych panel).
General Zone Strategy:
- There are two constructible quests that require parts in the Weeden Underground: The Ivory Triptych and the Trump of Shadows.
- You can access the Minotaur maze sub-area (past the dado) by descending into the revolting Pit and opening the secret door.
> open secret
- The dado secret door is one way. Once you progress past the dado, you can only exit this sub-area via the trapdoor in the Miserable Chapel floor.
