Here's a handy table that details the level that each class achieves mortal milestones, from solo melee capability to signature skills that enable accelerated xp gains.

Some players will keep a low lev remort character in level gear until level 14-15, when most mid-tier +DAM gear is wearable. Dual-multiplay allows for an area caster to provide massive grouped area spell xp to the remort character. For example, a cleric might earthquake a grouped remort while a mage might fission bomb. This is grouped shared xp and depending on the number of remorts on the leveling char, this might take awhile.

Other players will melee the leveling character ungrouped, and use a multi-windowed client to keep track of heals. Letting low-lev characters loose in lowbie xp areas like Training Grounds, and then providing summon/heals when needed is another early xp run approach.

Don't forget to use spell casting, if applicable, for additional xp gains during melee.

Apals really get going in melee at level 16, when they can learn underhanded tactics, a skill that prevents attacks from good-aligned mobs. They have an unlimited source of great +DAM and +STR equipment which sets them up for their signature SHIELD BASH / CHARGE skills later on. A fun, fast leveling class.

Early bards provide solid buffing and debuffing, getting BLUR and INSPIRE by level 7. Using either ILLUSION (level 8) to approximate the warrior skill double-hit or a combination of SLEEP (7) / UNCONSCIOUS (11) to utilize the skill backstab, provides a fast flow of melee based xp.

Clerical buffs like bless and armor provide great AC in early melee as well as the ever more powerful healing spells combined with self-glow. Clerics can quickly XP using the EARTHQUAKE area spell past 13, and later, AERIAL SERVANT / GATE THREE for a powerful collection of pets.

If you are solo leveling then a good jedi migrating to evil jedi at BRAIN IMPLOSION has been the historic xp path. However, if you've already built your lightsaber in a previous remort, running evil jedi throughout your xp cycle is fun and fast, culminating in a quick three leves after BI. An orbed, glowing 40 DAM bonus fighter wielding a 10D3 weapon is a blast.

Mages can also use SLEEP / BACKSTAB like bards, but must watch their HP until they can learn ENERGY DRAIN. Combining E DRAIN with FIREBLAST provides a quick xp ladder to 25 when a mage can collect massive amounts of xp in the Gothic Camps of Ravenna using FISSION BOMB.

Take advantage of the skill STUN TOUCH by triggering it every three rounds for increase follow on melee damage. Once a ninja gets the skill CRITICAL HIT, seek out !phys mobs in under-xp'd zones like Weeden, Underworld (Drudgery) and Rhyoden Kingdom. DISARM allows for success vs. !MAGIC mobs and DEF_BSLAM provides a solution for tossing mobs.

Pals get a random melee round block of evil mobs after learning DIVINE DEFENSE and RIGHTEOUSNESS helps pile up the damage on either undead or demon mobs. You'll have to wait though until level 30 for WEAPONS KNOWLEDGE to really rack up the melee xp.

Prepare your next ranger remort by creating a full set of DAM skins and praying that the uptime doesn't end. Grapple is great for group loading and ANIMAL CALLS help with solo xp gains. Rangers can cast SLEEP, a few levels later than bards, but SLEEP BACKSTAB is a popular option for solo xp. A really fun class to play, especially as you pile on remorts and levels when making exotic high stat skins.

Soheis are primarily fighters and have access to a wide +DAM +STR eq set. As early DISARMers, Soheis can quickly earn XP from big mob runs until they finally acquire STRIKE.
Thief (40m) 1 Backstab 1 Circle 15 Well BACKSTAB and enough said. Once a thief can practice CIRCLE, team up with a rescuer (P, R, W) for big XP gains fast.

Once a warrior gains DOUBLE HIT, the xp flows like water. For group equipment runs, grapple is essential for blocking mob DEFENDER_PROCS.
