- Here's a basic (non sohei/ non-petrify) walkthrough for a damage cleric paired with a chopping ninja (a ninja with a superb defend bodyslam ability):
- Check the storm gates for a port into the palace. Finding one, make sure you prep your team:
- Add a storm alias to each member of your team using the dirs from the matching port entry for this uptime.:If there are no storm gates, pick the exterior door and find the elite with the brass key (not to be confused with the intricate brass key).
- Use your mass charming bard to enthrall the elite with the brass key and order him to unlock the inner door to the palace. Before you begin, sleep all eunuchs and mutinous soldiers within the inner palace area. This will make the rest of your farm more enjoyable as you will not have to fend off random aggro attacks from the soldiers, nor watch for eunchs that are !sleeper.
- Make sure your mage, ranger, bard, cleric and ninja have recalls.
- Make sure your ninja has at least 40+ dam bonus with inspire/rage/aid.
- Prepare an urn containing full set of clerical damage gear. Place it on a storage character and hold for later.
- Before you go:
- Fly your bard, ranger, mage, cleric and ninja.
- Inspire /rage/aid your cleric.
- Inspire/rage/blur your ninja.
- Bless, aid, stone, armor, glow your ninja.
- Haste/strength your ninja with your sohei.
- Prepare the room:
- Run your bard into the throne area and suggestion sleep any eunuchs or mutinous soldiers in the mini-area. This may take a few cycles to accomplish.
- Give your cleric an urn with a full set of damage gear.
- Prepare the mob:
- Run your cleric and bard out to Augustus. Slow, hope, rage, blind Augusts. Recall the bard.
- Run the mage (25 INT) and Ranger (25 WIS) to Augustus. Cast hold, web, curse, and fumble x 2 on Augustus. Recall both. It's not necessary to have 25 max class chars, but it helps.
- Melee Time:
- Run your ninja to Augustus.
- Switch the cleric into battle gear.
- Make sure you disable all ninja auto-skills in your client. Defend bodyslam will not work if another ninja skill fires.
- Do not be following or grouped on either character. Augustus will hate cleric and will DEF_PROC the party if you are following/grouped.
- Start melee with your ninja (25 dex) until chopping begins.
- Move your battle cleric into melee and cause critic on Augustus until about 300 mana remains. You'll need the mana for a couple of heals if Augustus gets in some lucky hits.
- Collect your reward:
- If you've done everything correctly, you'll be junking the letter in 20-30 rounds. Or picking up a slippers or diadem.
